Santa, Tree Lighting, Food Trucks, Reindeer, Cleveland Monsters, Highlight This Year’s Event

Mayor Patton and the Fairview Park Recreation Department present the 4th Annual Winterfest which will take place at Bain Park Cabin on winterfestFriday, November 25 from 5:30-7:30pm. This holiday tradition will feature many local performers at the Gazebo, vendors and organizations to help you get a jump on your holiday shopping and visitors from the North Pole.

For the first time, a city-wide contest was held for the Official Fairview Park Christmas Tree. Entries were submitted during the month of October and a committee reviewed them before the selection team visited the trees to choose the winner. This year’s winning tree was planted in the mid-1970s by Louise and Richard Leathers, who were owners of Leathers Delicatessen, a mainstay on Lorain Road for years. The landscaper was Jack Hibbs, owner of Clean Cut Green Landscaping, also of Fairview Park. When told by her daughter that it had been selected, Mrs. Leathers cried. “I trimmed that tree every year until it got taller than my ladder.”
