The City of Fairview Park has been awarded a $139,107 grant to replace the outdated playground equipment at Grannis Park with a new, safe ADA-compliant playground.

The grant was awarded by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources as part of the NatureWorks grant program. The program provides up to 75 percent of costs for projects seeking to develop or rehabilitate municipal parks.

“The City of Fairview Park is honored to receive this grant from ODNR,” said Mayor Eileen Patton. “This funding will assist the City in transforming Grannis Park from an underutilized neighborhood park to an attractive, fully accessible communal space for community residents and visitors.”

Fairview Park was one of three public entities in Cuyahoga County to receive a NatureWorks grant on November 17 at a ceremony held by ODNR. Steve Owens, Fairview Park’s Director of Recreation, attended the ceremony on Mayor Patton’s behalf.

More information on the planning process for this project is forthcoming.
