The Director of Finance is head of the Finance Department and is the fiscal officer of the City. The Finance Director serves the Mayor and the Council as financial advisor in connection with municipal affairs. She maintains financial records and authenticates all records and documents of said finances. The Director of Finance examines all payroll, bills and other claims against the City and after finding them in proper form, makes appropriation to pay such claims. The Finance Department also employs an Assistant Finance Director who performs such duties as director establishes. The Finance Department maintains several funds specific to certain expenditures and established to regulate the allocation and distribution of City monies subject to review by the County and State Auditors.
