The Senior Life Director is the head of the Senior Life Department and has executive authority over all programs and activities in connection therewith. The Senior Life Director is responsible for the development and adoption of all policies and rules governing the operation of the Senior Life Office and the Senior Center which is located behind City Hall. The Director also must evaluate, initiate and coordinate City programs, activities and services for senior citizens, determine the needs of our senior citizens and actively pursue the fulfillment and satisfaction of those needs within the community, and preside over all meetings of the Senior Advisory Council, which makes recommendations and proposals for programs, services and activities for the Senior Life Office.
Our City's Senior Life Office, under the leadership of Director Regina Sillasen, provides services and programs to the City's older adults. The Senior Center is celebrating its 8th year in the "State of the Art" facility located directly behind City Hall.
Known as one of the best for its programs and services provided to the older population, our Fairview Park Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The center is not only a place to socialize with friends but a Senior Center that has a large variety of programs and services that enhances the lives of older adults. For many it is a foundation that promotes independence and support. It is not unusual to hear "I don't know what I would do without the center. It is my lifeline. I plan my day, my life around the center."
Since the Senior Center moved into the new facility in 2000, the Center continues to experience a continual growth in participation and requests for services.

You are about to experience the real excitement of communicating via the Internet.
Below you will see what are called "Links". By clicking on any of the underlined phrases, you will be transported directly to a different web site someplace in the world. You need not care where.
You will notice that we "link" at the top of this page to the various departments of the city of Fairview Park website so that you can brush up on our city history.
These training sessions are being sponsored by two local clubs. The Computer Assisted Genealogy Club (CAGG) and the Northeast Ohio PC Club (NEOPC). The links herewith provide a method to move to either of those websites. Check them out.

Senior Center activity photos will be displayed here as well. A class on the use of this "group concept" will be a part of our normal scheduling. Of significance is the fact that acceptance into this group is private and must be approved by the moderator.
