The City of Fairview Park’s residential property values are increasing. According to a new report from the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office, residential property values will increase 6.6% in Fairview Park effective January 1, 2016.

Cuyahoga County recently performed its triennial update of countywide property values as mandated by the Ohio Department of Taxation. The purpose of the update is to assure that property owners are being assessed at a proper level based on trending factors in the community. This latest update was based on home sales from January 2012 through December 2014.

Cuyahoga County has begun mailing notices to homeowners regarding the individual effects of the property revaluation. Fairview Park residents will have until September 30, 2015, to dispute their new property value with the Cuyahoga County Fiscal Office.

City officials are still waiting for the results of the commercial revaluation, but are hopeful to see the same results for commercial property in Fairview Park.

Cuyahoga County’s report comes just about a year after a study ranked Fairview Park #4 based on an increase in its average home sale price and a decline in the average length of time homes spent on the market.

“Cuyahoga County’s revaluation is yet another example proving that Fairview Park is a desirable community with a quality housing stock and strong neighborhoods,” said Mayor Eileen Ann Patton. “I’m proud to say that Fairview Park continues to be A Great Place to Grow.”
