The Finance Department oversees all financial operations for the City of Fairview Park, including managing the City’s budget, cash management, accounts payable, and employee payroll and benefits. The department, which consists of a Director, Assistant Director, and Payroll Clerk, is also responsible for maintaining financial records and authenticating all applicable records and documents. The Finance Director serves as financial adviser to the Mayor and City Council of Fairview Park with regard to municipal affairs.

Each year the Finance Department summarizes the City of Fairview Park’s financial transactions by preparing a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) that complies with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The City’s financial statements are then audited by either the Ohio Auditor of State’s office or a private accounting firm. Since annual audits commenced in 1984, auditors have always rendered an opinion that Fairview Park’s financial statements fairly present the city’s true financial picture. The City was awarded the Auditor of State Award with Distinction, the highest honor given by that office, for its audits of years 2011, 2012, and 2013.
