Council President Michael Kilbane was elected to serve the residents of Ward 5 in 2008. On April 6th, 2009 Michael was chosen by his fellow Council members to fill a vacancy in the Council President position. Michael was reelected as Council President in the fall of 2009. As Council President he presides over both Council and Committee Meetings in order to maintain proper procedure and to ensure that all meetings are held in accordance with the Ohio Sunshine Laws. The President of Council also establishes the Chairs and Vice-Chairs of Council's standing committees and provides general supervision to the Clerk of Council. He enjoys all of the powers, duties, functions, obligations and rights of any other member of Council and, with the Charter amendments passed in 2009, now has full voting rights as well. He and his wife Lynn have three children and have lived in Fairview Park for over fifteen years. Mike is a nineteen year member of the Structural Ironworkers Local Union 17 and also a delegate to the Cleveland AFL-CIO Northshore Federation of Labor.

After moving to Fairview Park from Lakewood in 2001, Peggy ran for and was elected to Fairview Park City Council in 2005 and has been re-elected by the residents to serve on Council in 2007 and again in 2009. She is a member of all three standing City Council committees, and currently serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee. Peggy is the City Council appointee to the Community Reinvestment Area Housing Council, Fairview Park Community Council, West Shore Fire District Study, and the Board of Taxation Review. She also has a long history of community and civic involvement and serves as a Board Member of the Northeast Ohio City Council Association (NOCCA); Fairview Park Summerfest Committee; Fairview Park Centennial Committee and is a former Board Member for the HELP Foundation, a local non-profit agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Peggy is a graduate of Kent State University and, as Licensed Social Worker; she has over 28 years experience working in both public schools and community-based agencies.

Councilman Patrick Manning has lived in the City of Fairview Park for more than twenty years. He is the father of four children. Patrick was elected to serve the residents of Ward 1 in 2008 and reelected as Councilman in the fall of 2009. Councilman Manning is currently the Vice Chairman of the Local Government and Community Services Committee, Council's liaison to the Chamber of Commerce, and representative to the Fairview Park Community Council. Prior to his election to City Council he was President of the Coffinberry Association, which represents homeowners in the Coffinberry neighborhood, for twelve years. He also founded an organization of professionals who provide services to seniors living at home. He has volunteered as an athletic coach for both the Fairview Park Recreation Department and St. Angela Merici Catholic School. He was a Cub Scout leader and Boy Scout adult volunteer. Patrick is a financial advisor specializing in insurance products for families and business owners.

Councilman William Minek, a retired Fairview Park Police Officer, and his wife Jeanine have lived in Fairview Park for almost thirty years. Bill was elected Councilman by the residents of Ward 2 in 1985. Over the next twenty years, he was also elected to serve as Council President and Councilman At Large for the City. In 2004, he returned to his original Ward 2 position. Bill is currently Chairman of the Environment, Public Works, Planning, Zoning and Development Committee, Council’s representative to the Planning & Design Commission, representative to the Board of Control, Cable Regulatory Staff, and Senior Life Advisory Council. Councilman Minek also has the distinction of being Fairview Park's 2004 Citizen of the Year and President of the Community Council.

Councilman Fred Gauthier, his wife Justine and son Thad have lived in Fairview Park since 1971. Mr. Gauthier was appointed to fill a vacant Ward 3 Council position in 1998 and has been reelected to each successive term. Councilman Gauthier has been Chairman of the Local Government and Community Services Committee for many years. He is Council's representative to the Parks and Recreation Commission and serves as a representative to S.A.F.E. Fred was elected Council President Pro Tem by his colleagues for the last three terms of Council. Councilman Gauthier was also a very active and valued member of the Gemini Committee and an officer in the Fairview Park Friends of the Library for the last eight years.

Councilman John Hinkel was appointed to fill the vacant Ward 4 position by the members of Council on March 2, 2009 and elected to his first full term in the fall of 2009. John and his wife Erin have been residents of Fairview Park for over ten years. John is Vice-Chair of the Finance Committee and is currently President of the Fairview Park Republican Club. He completed his MBA at Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management in 2008. He is currently a Systems Analyst at Ernst & Young LLP.

Thomas “Pete” Matia was appointed by the members of Council to fill the vacant Ward 5 seat on May 4th, 2009 and elected to his first full term in the fall of 2009. Pete is a retired UPS driver who has lived with his wife Denise and four children in Fairview Park for over nineteen years. Pete is currently Vice-Chair of the Environment, Public Works, Planning, Zoning and Development Committee and Council's liaison to the School Board.
Traci Waldron has served as Clerk of Council since the fall of 1998. The Clerk of Council manages the daily operations of the City Council office, maintains the public record, prepares meeting agendas, composes and attends to all correspondence and answers all inquiries as to Council proceedings or legislative activities. Traci is a graduate of St. Joseph Academy and continued her education at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland where she studied Political Science and Cultural Anthropology. She has served as Chair of the Summerfest Entertainment Committee for several years.
Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers
