The City of Fairview Park has partnered with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District to provide for the environmentally-safe disposal of hazardous, poisonous, or toxic household products that cannot be disposed in the regular trash. More than 10.3 million pounds of hazardous household chemicals have been collected throughout Cuyahoga County since 1996.

Materials ACCEPTED include:

  • Oil or solvent-based paint, sealers, primers, or coatings (aerosols or liquids)
  • Varnishes, polyurethanes, shellacs
  • Paint thinner, mineral spirits, turpentine
  • Pesticides, herbicides, fungicides
  • Caustic household cleaners
  • Pool chemicals
  • Automotive fluids, motor oil, car batteries
  • Adhesives, roof tar, driveway sealer
  • Kerosene, gasoline, lighter fluid
  • Mercury, fluorescent bulbs (6 ft. length max.)
  • Computer equipment
  • Tires WITHOUT rims
