Eileen Ann Patton has served as Mayor of the City of Fairview Park since January 1, 2000. Now in her fourth term, Mayor Patton has had a transformative impact on the Fairview Park community. She led the way in revitalizing the Lorain Road business corridor, including the demolition of five blighted hotels and the construction of two beautiful new office buildings. Mayor Patton was integral in the passage and implementation of the Gemini Project, a unique partnership between the citizens, city, and schools. She was also active in the redevelopment of Westgate Shopping Center, which now hosts several of Fairview Park’s largest employers.
Prior to being elected mayor, Patton served for six years as a member of Fairview Park City Council, representing the residents of Ward 1.
Mayor Patton believes in being active in the local Fairview Park community. She is a member of the Fairview Park Chamber of Commerce, West Shore Rotary Club, League of Women Voters, and Friends of the Library. Her participation and volunteerism has garnered her many local awards, including the Fairview Park Education Association’s “Apple of Our Eye” award, the Presidential Award for Volunteerism from the St. Angela Merici Sports Boosters Program, and the Fairview Park City Schools’ “Award of Excellence.”
Patton also represents Fairview Park at a regional level as a member of the First Suburbs Consortium, Cuyahoga County Mayors & Managers Association, and the West Shore Council of Governments. She serves as mayoral representative of Fairview Park and the neighboring West Shore communities on both the Cuyahoga County Planning Commission and Suburban Water Council. Mayor Patton has been recognized and received awards from a number of entities throughout Cuyahoga County, including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Team NEO, the Cleveland Growth Association, and the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Mayor Patton has been married to her husband Jim for 39 years and enjoys spending any free time with their four children and two grandchildren.
