On March 2, 2015, Michael Kocon was sworn in as the newest member of the Fairview Park Fire Department. He holds the rank of Firefighter/Paramedic.

Kocon was born and raised in Fairview Park and is a 2009 graduate of Fairview High School. Prior to graduation, he spent two weeks with the Fairview Park Fire Department as a senior project. During that time, Kocon learned the value of public service and chose to pursue a career as a firefighter. He enrolled in the Tri-C Fire Academy, where he gained his Firefighter II and EMT-Basic certifications. He became a paramedic in December 2011 and worked for a private EMS company since then. For the last year, Kocon also worked for the North Randall Fire Department.

Kocon is honored to be given the opportunity to have a career with the Fairview Park Fire Department and to give back to the community in which he was raised.
