On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC) will hold a full-scale emergency drill at Lewis Field from 9 to 11 AM. During these hours, GRC will activate the campus’ exterior siren alert system. In addition to NASA equipment and personnel, participation will involve police, fire, and ambulance services from several local communities. The purpose of this drill is to assist in testing the Center’s emergency response plans.

During the hours of the drill, residents of Fairview Park may notice helicopters, sirens, flashing emergency lights, and smoke in the vicinity of Lewis Field. Residents can also expect increased traffic in the vicinity of Brookpark Road and Aerospace Parkway as participating agencies and personnel arrive and depart the campus.
