christmas-tree-recycleThe Christmas season has come and gone once more leaving your home full of trash-bound items. Wait! The City of Fairview Park and Fairview Park Green Team are encouraging residents to think before you pitch and consider the following opportunities to keep recyclables out of the landfill:

1. Republic Waste Services will be collecting live, discarded Christmas trees curbside on Monday, January 4 and Monday, January 11.  Trees will be composted so please remove all bags and decorations.

2. Recycle your unwanted, broken, and burned out strings of holiday lights at Fairview Park City Hall now through January 13. Electrical cords and power strips are also accepted. Green recycling containers are available 24/7 in the City Hall parking lot.

3. Do you have old electronics to get rid of to make space for your gifts this year? Try recycling for free at any Best Buy and Staples store. Both retailers accept most electronics devices for recycling. While you’re at it, check out other retailer recycling opportunities available to you.
