Municipal Income Tax

A two percent (2.0%) municipal income tax is levied on all income earned by City of Fairview Park residents and those working within the City limits. An offsetting credit up to 1.25% is available on 75% of income tax that has been paid to another municipality.

Of the tax dollars collected each year, 25% is dedicated to the Gemini Center, 12.5% is used exclusively for street repairs and associated costs, and the remaining 62.5% funds City operations.

Income taxes are collected by the Regional Income Tax Agency (RITA). The deadline for income tax returns each year is April 15. Estimated quarterly payments are required when local income tax is not automatically withheld from income, provided the annual liability is $100 or greater.
